mask layer: Even-numbered layers (i.e. layers 2, 4, 6, …), bi-level data, in a multi-layer segmentation of a page containing a combination ofbi-level and multi-level images. A page is composed from a set ofpage-wide stripes ofimage data, which are coded independently. The stripes are transmitted sequentially from the top to the bottom ofthe page.
